Boston Uprising Player Mouffin Accused of Sexual Misconduct
There is trouble brewing for the Boston Uprising after sexual assault allegations were raised against Walid "Mouffin" Bassal.
The Overwatch League is returning this weekend, and amongst the hype, rumors and allegations have begun to surface. On Friday, March 27th, KhaleesiBB posted a TwitLonger raising some concerning interactions with Boston Uprising tank player, Mouffin. The TwitLonger begins with Khaleesi detailing her relationship with Mouffin and quickly turns into a series of red flags.

Khaleesi states that Mouffin had cheated on her when they were exclusive, and while this is rather a judgment of character, the subject of concern is the age of the girls he spoke to sexually. The two met in person at Twitchcon and stayed at an Airbnb with an unspecified amount of individuals. The post makes it sound as if Mouffin became intoxicated, and started to act aggressively.
“During the trip he was being aggressive with other girls at the AirBnB, being creepy, touching them and grabbing their wrists so hard he left bruises on them. This led to the others girls and I telling the other guys at the AirBnB to watch out for us, not to leave us alone with him and to check on us because we were all scared for our safety. “
After Twitchcon the two stopped talking, and what seems like a lot of drama went down. After months of not talking, Khaleesi and Mouffin supposedly made peace in January. If you were hoping for a happy ending after that last sentence, you won’t be getting it. Khaleesi was informed by unnamed individuals once again, that Mouffin had been conducting sexual activities or in a sexual manner, with underage girls.
“He had sent them videos and engaged with sexual behavior with them. My blood ran cold, my mental flashed back to the second girl he slide into the dms of when him and I were exclusive... I knew then that I couldn't really deny what I had first heard back then. Mouffin had a penchant for underage girls and overall extremely predatory behavior towards women.
A lot of these underage girls are not coming forth, He has bullied them into deleting evidence, he's offered them compensation / gifts etc for their silence and corporation, this I know for a fact. I also was told by people whom attended Blizzcon that he offered alcohol to minors, I don't think that they accepted it but, the fact stands he was offering alcohol to people who are under the legal age. Some of these girls are no older than 15, they can't even drive a car legally and he's actively talking to them sexually (sending them nudes/asking them for nudes) as recently as January”
The allegations that he actively sexually talked to underage girls and then offered compensation to cover up his behavior is sickening. The unfortunate nail on the coffin is that the Boston Uprising is no stranger to sexual misconduct amongst their players. In 2018, player Jonathan “DreamKazper” Sanchez was indefinitely suspended after his sexual behavior with a 14- year-old girl came to light. This isn’t an isolated incident to the Boston Uprising or even the Overwatch League.
Esports and gaming have a massive issue with sexual misconduct, namely among male streamers using their influence to engage in sexual behaviors with fans. An even growing concern is that the average age for the esports and gaming audience is under the age of 18. In 2018, popular Runescape streamer Brandon “Black” Abrams, was accused of sexually harassing and assaulting four separate women.
We have reached out to the Boston Uprising for comment and they stated, "The Boston Uprising has learned of allegations against Walid “Mouffin” Bassal. We take all allegations of this nature very seriously and as a result Mouffin will not be competing in today’s match. We will not be commenting any further while we investigate the matter."
