TFT adds new galaxies mechanic with new patch 10.7
The galaxies mechanic is now available!
Patch 10.7 marks the release of the highly anticipated galaxies mechanic. Now players will get a chance to play in one of the new galaxies:
- The Neekoverse: Everyone gets two free copies of Neeko’s Help.
- Lilac Nebula: The first carousel contains only four cost units.
- Medium Legends: Little Legends are larger and you have +25 starting health.
At the beginning of each round, the players can check which galaxy they’re playing on by clicking in the top banner. There’s also a chance that they don’t get any new galaxies at all and it’s just a regular game.
The three new galaxies are the beginning of the new set. Before the release of TFT: Galaxies, Riot Games said that they would be adding new galaxies through the duration of the set. It’s unclear if the new galaxies are coming independently or will be part of the mid-set update. The mid-set update is the only major update for TFT: Galaxies that will add new units and elements to the game. The rest of the updates are simple balance tweaks.
Speaking of balance, patch 10.7 targeted the most overpowered five-cost units in the game.
Champion changes in TFT patch 10.7
Lulu, Gangplank, Miss Fortune, Ekko, and Aurelion Sol were nerfed in patch 10.7. So it might be a good idea to reconsider those compositions that rely on these picks as late-game insurance.
- Spell Damage: 100/150/750
- Spell Damage: 225/400/2000
- Spell Damage: 450/600/9001
- Attack Speed: 0.8
- Spell Damage: 60%/80%/999%
Gangplank got the biggest nerf at both one and two stars.
Overall, the damage from all of these champions was significantly reduced. It’s better to consider other options as the main carries in most compositions.
Patch 10.7 also targeted some traits. Blademaster, Chrono, and Sniper got significant buffs. Six Blademasters have 60% chance to activate the trait. Six Chrono now get 75% attack speed, putting this trait back in the mate after falling out during the second week of patch 10.6. Snipers get 15% bonus damage.
On the nerfed side of the patch are Brawlers and Mystic. Four Brawlers get 700 health, it means that Brawlers get 50 health less that in 10.6. Four Mystic get 105 magic resistance, meaning the trait is granting 15 magic resistance less.
Chrono and Sniper are back in the meta. These buffs put these two traits back in the list of priorities, especially now that Brawlers got nerfed.
Dark Star and Mana-Reaver were reworked.
- When a Dark Star Champion dies, all other allied Dark Star Champions gain +25 (3), +35 (6) Attack Damage and Spell Power
- Mana-Reaver attacks increase the mana cost of their target’s next spell by 40%
Mana-Reaver now works similar to the Poison trait in set 2, or the Demon trait in set one. This trait now only requires two units to activate the trait.
